Get to know about Carlos below!
Q: How long have you worked at Hyosung? What was your start date?
A: I’ve been working with Hyosung since 01/07/2019 (4 years 5 months).
Q: Can you tell us a little more about your background and how you joined the company in 2019?
A: I’m a Computer Engineer coming from IT (15 years working for IT Services in the Oil and Gas sector and some earned IT certifications). During these years, I had the opportunity to lead IT Infrastructure projects (operating systems, windows servers, and telecommunications), an experience that helps me in my current position as Professional Services Engineer at Hyosung Innovue.
I joined the company in 2019 after working as IT Project Manager for another financial institution. A close friend told me about an open Hyosung Field Services Engineer position in Atlanta, and started working for this great company – best decision I’ve ever made was to move to the ATM sector. After a few months, I was offered the Lead Field Services Engineer position, which I gladly accepted. After two years leading the Field Services team, I applied to the Professional Services Engineer posting and that is my current position since June 28, 2021. I feel extremely happy to work for this organization now.
Q: What was your first impression of Hyosung?
A: Working for a company that promotes Code of Ethics and fair treatment to internal and external customers is very special. After spending some years with Hyosung, I learned how important is to maintain the best quality of service to all. I love that we can perform our job duties as a team with a common goal in front of the customer and helping to each other.
Q: Are there any important skills or attributes that are important for someone that wants to pursue a career as a Professional Services Engineer? Is there anything about your job or your team that you think people outside would find surprising or different in the way you/it works?
A: Willing to serve and use self-education to provide the best performance. ATM world is evolving constantly and in order to offer high quality product and services with the best quality we need to keep pushing our boundaries. Hyosung is giving us the opportunity to serve and we need to make the effort to keep our ATM business on top. Teamwork is the key to success.
Q: Can you tell us about your role and summarize your day-to-day responsibilities?
A: As a Professional Services Engineer, I have the responsibility to install Hyosung hardware and software products at leading financial institutions on a project basis. Gather documentation to configure and connect our ATM applications to complex banking environments. Serve and face customers during the different project phases representing Hyosung values.
Q: What inspires you every day?
A: Taking on new challenges to innovate connecting complex financial environments to our ATMs. Having the opportunity to develop my current skills and working with others excellent engineers with a common goal is the best part. I love showing to others how well performs the Hyosung machines.
Q: In 5 years what do you want to achieve or where do you see you yourself? This can be a personal goal or a career goal.
A: I see myself being an integral part of the Hyosung Global Software Center Team making contributions to improve our software applications integration with the most up to date ATM technology, potentially taking on a leadership role that naturally fits my background and becoming an expert and on every single aspect helping the team and the company success across the years.
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: Spend some time with my family and play and watch sports. I love baseball, golf and soccer.
Q: Do you have favorite memory or standout accomplishment you want to talk about? moment during your employment at Hyosung? With your team, customer, or event, etc…
A: Two years ago I had the opportunity to switch roles from the Field Services Team to the Global Software Center at Hyosung, event that becomes one of my favorites. Knowing from the previous position on how our hardware works and having the opportunity to contribute on the software side gives me the whole picture to better serve to internal and external clients on my projects. One good example to mention is the new Digital Desk project, where I’m using together the hardware and software knowledge to help on building a new Hyosung product on the market and prepare the cookbook documentation. That feeling is irreplaceable and I have to say thanks to my leadership team for this enjoyable assignment.
Q: Do you have a story you’d like to tell that wasn’t covered by any of the questions? It does not have to be about Hyosung.
A: Thanks for asking! I don’t have anything else to add. I feel like the previous questions covered the important topics from my background and job information. Thanks again for your help.
