Welcome to Hyosung Innovue’s employee spotlight! Our first January Spotlight is on Brian Lim, Supply Chain Manager.

Q: How long have you worked at Hyosung? What was your start date?
A: I started working in June, 2021
Q: Can you tell us a little more about your background and how you joined the company in 2021?
A: I have a degree in Economics and started working as a Demand Forecast and planning analyst for over 10 years before I joined Hyosung.
Q: What was your first impression of Hyosung?
A: I had an opportunity to talk with the leaders of the company before I even started working as part of my last interview process which made me feel welcomed, valued and that I would have a significant part of the organization.
Q: Are there any important skills or attributes that are important for someone that wants to pursue a career as a Supply Chain Manager? Is there anything about your job or your team that you think people outside would find surprising or different in the way you/it works?
A: Foremost skill you need to have is accuracy and time management in fast environment. You need to have ownership, responsibility and problem solving.
Q: Can you tell us about your role and summarize your day-to-day responsibilities?
A: My day-to-day responsibility as a supply chain manager is to purchase ATM, keeping track of them during transit, production planning and management.
Q: What inspires you every day?
A: What inspires me the most is a drive to become the best at what I do and to be an asset to the organization that I belong in and to people that work with me. Meeting the stated goals within deadline thus creating tangle outcomes motivate me also. At the end of each week, I want to be able to say I did the best I could this week.
Q: In 5 years what do you want to achieve or where do you see you yourself? This can be a personal goal or a career goal.
A: My ultimate goal within the company is to become an expert in my field and to take on leadership role that allow me to mentor and guide others to achieve their career aspirations. My personal goal for is to be the father that my teenager kid wants to hang out with and thinks that I am a cool person.
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: I love playing games, building Legos and robots.
Q: Do you have favorite memory or standout accomplishment you want to talk about? moment during your employment at Hyosung? With your team, customer, or event, etc…
A: When our department won the Team of the Month last year, I felt very accomplished and grateful to be part of the team.
Q: Do you have a story you’d like to tell that wasn’t covered by any of the questions? It does not have to be about Hyosung.
A: No, I’m a rather private person. 🙂
