Q: How long have you worked at Hyosung?

A: I have been at Hyosung for 9 years 3 months, I started work for Hyosung as a Field Service Engineer 8/6/2012. In November 2017, I left the field and started work as a Service Ticket Analyst. In March 2020, I was promoted to Sr. Operations Analyst where I get to lead a team of ticket analysts.

Q: Can you tell us a little more about your background and how you joined the company in 2012?

A: My past employment background is in accounting. In 2009 the Home Builder I was working for had cutbacks and after 10 years with them, I had the opportunity to find a new field of employment. I enrolled in a Technical College and received my degree in Computer Electronic Engineering Technology. At the time, Hyosung was expanding into my state of Indiana and I decided to join this growing company.

Q: What was your first impression of Hyosung?

A: This Company is going to grow very quickly. From our display center that showcases our different models for Customers to tour to our training department that gives new technicians hands-on experience was top of the line. There is a lot that goes on inside an ATM and I had the opportunity to learn how the inner mechanics make it happen.

Q: Are there any important skills or attributes that are important for someone that wants to pursue a career as a Sr. Operations Analyst? Is there anything about your job or your team that you think people outside would find surprising or different in the way you/it works?

A: The job we do requires extensive knowledge of Hyosung hardware as well as the different software our customers use. Communication between team members is essential. We all work remotely, without daily interaction with other team members, and it would be easy to get distracted and head down some rabbit holes that are not productive.

Q: Can you tell us about your role and summarize your day-to-day responsibilities?

A: We identify service tickets that are outside the scope of our standard maintenance agreements for each Customer, find trends or patterns and bring them to the attention of the appropriate department, and coach technicians on a better way to close out tickets.

Q: What inspires you every day?

A: My team. Shout Out to Bill Weis, John Kiefer, Ron Vogler, and Dave McCoy. The people I work with never ceases to amaze me. We always take the time for a phone call or DM to say how is your day going? We find a way to bring a smile to a coworker’s face and occasionally enjoy a good laugh at some of the things we read about in closing notes or photos submitted.

Q: In 5 years what do you want to achieve or where do you see you yourself?

A: Working remotely is flexible and can be done from any location and I’ve always heard the weather is great in Hawaii or another tropical destination. Winters in the Mid-West are brutal and anticipate our company will expand to the 50th state eventually so I will be at the top of the list for transfers.

Q: What do you like to do outside of work?

A: I love live music. There is a bowling center in my town that has leagues I participate in as well as an entertainment venue that has live bands and karaoke on the weekends. I also enjoy getting together with friends for cards and girls’ trips for vacation and enjoy walks in the country with my Labrador mix puppy dog, Lady.

Q: Do you have favorite memory or standout accomplishment during your time at Hyosung?

A: When I became team lead, I was given the opportunity to explore more on the software side of our business. I worked with our hardware/software department head to organize and define software fixes that are currently in process and providing data to verify the fix is repaired as expected.
