Employee Spotlight: Meet Chuck Bentley
Welcome to Hyosung’s employee spotlight! Our March Spotlight is on Chuck Bentley, Professional Services Engineer.

Q: How long have you worked at Hyosung? What was your start date?
A: I have been with Hyosung for 5+ years starting on March 30, 2018
Q: Can you tell us a little more about your background and how you joined the company?
A: Most of my career has been in software design and development with emphasis on working with financial institutions. I came to Hyosung when my previous employer began to outsource and downsize the local office.
Q: What was your first impression of Hyosung?
A: I knew a number of people in the GSC that arrived before me. In some ways it was a homecoming
Q: Are there any important skills or attributes that are important for someone that wants to pursue a career as a Professional Services Engineer? Is there anything about your job or your team that you think people outside would find surprising or different in the way you/it works?
A:The technical aspects consist of knowing how the NBS software interacts with the ATM network and if applicable the FI’s host system (core). Software Troubleshooting and People skills are very useful as well.
Q: Can you tell us about your role and summarize your day-to-day responsibilities?
A:I work with the FI customers from the beginning of the project until transition to the Hyosung Support team. The tasks include assisting the FI on how to configure their machine with all of the available options, traveling to the FI’s facility to load, configure and train the FI team on operations and troubleshooting and then assisting with UAT and Pilot functions by resolving any issues that arise.
Q: In 5 years what do you want to achieve or where do you see you yourself?
A: I will be retired spending time with family and friends.
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: I work as an usher during home games for the Dayton Dragons Baseball team. The Dragons are a Single A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. A bucket list item is to attend a game in every MLB stadium. My current count is 15 with 3 of the Stadiums no longer in existence.
I frequently attend the big muscle car auto auctions that are held around the country. While I do not own or plan to purchase a vintage muscle car, I do like to attend the auctions to see what is available.
Q: Do you have a favorite memory or standout accomplishment during your time at Hyosung?
A: No specific incident. I have enjoyed meeting and working with the FI teams on location while preparing the teams for UAT and pilot roll outs.
Q: Do you have an interesting story you’d like to tell that wasn’t covered by any of the questions?
A: After college graduation with a BS degree in Computer Science Engineering, I interviewed with NASA in Houston to work with the Space Shuttle Simulator when the shuttle was being developed (1980). I was able to be in the simulator sitting behind the first pilots who would eventually fly on a mission. I do remember the graphics were very cartoonish compared to what is available today.
